Dr. Susmay Nandi is an Assistant Professor in the School of Advanced Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), India. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya in 2022, focusing his research on the analysis of Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows with heat and mass transfer, particularly studying MHD fluid flow past different geometries with various physical aspects.Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Nandi completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics & Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2015 and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Mathematics from the University of North Bengal in 2013. He also pursued a B.Ed. in Science from the University of North Bengal in 2017.Before joining UPES in April 2022, Dr. Nandi served as a Junior Research Fellow (2017ā€“2019) and Senior Research Fellow (2019ā€“2022) at NIT Meghalaya. His research interests include Magnetohydrodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat and mass transfer. He has contributed to the field through several publications, including studies on the electrothermal effect on MHD Jeffrey fluid flow in porous channels with variable fluid properties.

Dr. Susmay Nandi earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya in 2022. His doctoral research focused on the Analysis of Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows with heat and mass transfer, under the supervision of Dr. Bidyasagar Kumbhakar. He holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics & Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati (2015) and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mathematics from the University of North Bengal (2013). Additionally, he obtained a B.Ed. in Science from the University of North Bengal in 2017.

Experience :

Dr. Nandi is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Engineering, at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, where he has been serving since April 2022. Prior to this, he worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and later as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at NIT Meghalaya from 2017 to 2022. His teaching and research expertise span applied mathematics, computational modeling, and fluid dynamics.

Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) & Fluid Dynamics: Studying fluid flow behavior under the influence of magnetic fields.Heat & Mass Transfer: Exploring thermal radiation, hybrid nanofluid flows, and porous media applications.Computational Methods: Utilizing numerical and analytical approaches to solve nonlinear mathematical models.Biomedical Applications: Investigating fluid dynamics in physiological systems, including hydrocephalus and cerebrospinal fluid flow.He has contributed extensively to these fields through high-impact journal publications indexed in SCIE and Scopus.
