Dr. Mebougna L. Drabo is a distinguished professor and researcher in mechanical engineering, currently serving as the Chair of the Mechanical & Civil Engineering and Construction Management Department at Alabama A&M University. He has been with the university since 2012, progressively taking on leadership roles.He was appointed as the Professor of Mechanical Engineering in April 2023 and has been leading the department since January 2023. Prior to that, he served as the Interim Chair (August 2022 – January 2023) before taking on the permanent role. In addition, Dr. Drabo is the Director of the Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Science (NERS) Center since August 2022 and was recently appointed as the Alabama EPSCoR Agency Director for DOE in January 2024.Throughout his academic career, he has contributed extensively to mechanical and nuclear engineering research, education, and program development, demonstrating expertise in engineering leadership and innovation.
