Prior to that, he served as the Interim Chair (August 2022 – January 2023) before taking on the permanent role. In addition, Dr. Drabo is the Director of the Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Science (NERS) Center since August 2022 and was recently appointed as the Alabama EPSCoR Agency Director for DOE in January 2024.Throughout his academic career, he has contributed extensively to mechanical and nuclear engineering research, education, and program development, demonstrating expertise in engineering leadership and innovation.
