Padala Suresh Kumar has a strong academic background in Civil Engineering. He earned his PhD from the Department of Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2022 with a perfect CGPA of 10/10 as a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF). He completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2017, ranking 2nd in the department with a CGPA of 9.162/10. His foundational education includes Class XII from Mahathi Junior College, Visakhapatnam, and Class X from Ravindra Bharathi School, achieving commendable marks in both.

Dr. Kumar is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Infrastructure, IIT Bhubaneswar, since July 2024. Prior to this, he held the same position at the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, IIT Jodhpur, from September 2023 to July 2024. He was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Delhi, where he contributed significantly to research in the Department of Civil Engineering from December 2022 to September 2023.

Dr. Kumar has expertise in software tools such as ABAQUS, STAAD Pro, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD, along with programming skills in C, C++, and MATLAB. Dr. Kumar’s research interests encompass the service life prediction of reinforced concrete members exposed to environmental stressors, application of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) in building thermal performance, and the analysis of rigid pavements under vehicular and thermal loads. His work includes the use of machine learning for structural performance prediction and the development of finite element models for heat transfer and chloride ingress in concrete structures.
