Shuaikun Chen has contributed to several impactful projects in civil engineering. He participated in the Asphalt Airport Pavement Project at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City International Airport, USA, where he modeled and analyzed the mechanical response data of asphalt airport pavement. Through this work, he identified the essential working features during the failure process of asphalt pavement, which were later documented in SCI-indexed papers. During his master’s studies, he participated in the project titled “Experimental Study on Seismic Performance of Bottom Frame Structure Based on Structural Stress State Theory.” Additionally, as a research assistant, he worked under the guidance of his tutor to apply for the National Natural Science Foundation of China project. Some of this research was successfully published in the journal Engineering Structures.
