Currently, the energy density of electric traction motor is continuously increasing to match the performance and reliability of electric vehicles with IC engine vehicles. The commercially employed water jacket cooling ...fails to achieve the desired efficiency of high energy density electric traction motor. Direct oil cooling is one of potential cooling strategies to replace the conventional cooling method for achieving the desired thermal management of next generation electric traction motors. However, the database to commercialize the direct oil cooling based on thermal management and economic aspects is not enriched sufficiently and thus extensive research studies need to be conducted in this field. Therefore, the heat transfer and economic characteristics of direct oil cooling for electric traction motor are investigated considering different cooling oils and driving duty cycles in the present work. The integrated electromagnetic-thermal numerical model is developed using ANSYS Motor-Cad commercial software to simulate the heat transfer and economic characteristics.

Modern manufacturing processes are characterized by growing product diversities and complexities alike. As a result, the demand for fast and flexible process automation is ever increasing. However, higher individuality and ...smaller batch sizes hamper the use of standard robotic automation systems, which are well suited for repetitive tasks but struggle in unknown environments. Modern manipulators, such as collaborative industrial robots, provide extended capabilities for flexible automation. In this paper, an adaptive ROS-based end-to-end toolchain for vision-guided robotic process automation is presented. The processing steps comprise several consecutive tasks: CAD-based object registration, pose generation for sensor-guided applications, trajectory generation for the robotic manipulator, the execution of sensor-guided robotic processes, test and the evaluation of the results

To study the mechanical performance of bolted connections with different structural forms of reinforced rings, based on the results of monotonic loading tests on two bolted connections between a concrete-filled ...steel tubular column and a steel beam with an outer reinforcing ring, this article uses ABAQUS v.2020 software to establish a three-dimensional refined finite element analysis model of such connections using appropriate constitutive models for concrete and steel. Subsequently, the effect of the dimensions of the steel beam, reinforcing ring, and cover plate on the load-bearing properties and the failure mechanism of the connections is investigated, and the numerical model is consistent with the verification test results.
